Aber nicht nur das: durch die reine Fettphase muss man sich nicht um spezielle Konservierung kümmern, die Lagerung bei Raumtemperatur ist überhaupt kein Problem. Das macht sie auch zu einem perfekten Reisebegleiter oder einem attraktiven, selbstgemachten Geschenk.
Was ist Body-Butter überhaupt?
Im Prinzip handelt es sich dabei um Hautpflege mit der Konsistenz von, nun ja, Butter. Sie ist also ziemlich fest.
Im Basisrezept besteht sie aus einem Teil flüssigem Öl und eineinhalb bis zwei Teilen festem Fett, wie Pflanzenbuttern oder auch Talg. Komplexere Rezepte beinhalten oft auch einen Wasseranteil, Emulgatoren und so weiter. Das wären technisch gesehen festere Cremes.
Die Herstellung ist denkbar einfach. Alles was du dazu brauchst, ist ein pflegendes Öl, Pflanzenbutter, einen Küchenmixer und eine Rührschüssel.
Das ist drin:
– Kürbis enthält für die Hautpflege geeignete Carotinoide und Vitamin E, die sich im Öl lösen.
– Zimt duftet nicht nur gut, er wirkt außerdem durchblutungsfördernd und somit wärmend.
– Vanille wirkt vor allem über ihren Duft entspannend und stimmungsaufhellend. Perfekt für dunkle Wintertage!
– Mandelöl ist einfach ein gut verträglicher Allrounder in der Hautpflege und für jeden Hauttyp geeignet. Gutes Mandelöl ist in vielen großen Supermärkten erhältlich oder direkt bei Ölmühlen.
– Sheabutter ist ebenfalls für jeden Hauttyp geeignet. Es gibt sie in verschiedenen Ausführungen. Ich bevorzuge sie in Bioqualität oder aus sozialer Landwirtschaft und raffiniert. Raffiniert heißt, dass sie keinen Eigengeruch mehr hat, im Gegensatz zur Naturbelassenen. Welche du wählst, ist dir überlassen.
Du bekommst sie im Rohstoffhandel, kannst sie aber auch in Apotheken bestellen.
Herstellung:
Beim Kochen sind mir Reste eines Hokkaido-Kürbis übrig geblieben. Diese habe ich noch einmal kleingeschnitten und mit Mandelöl übergossen.
Dann habe ich noch eine Zimtstange zerkleinert, eine halbe Vanilleschote hinzugegeben und die Mischung zwei Stunden lang bei etwa 60 Grad im Wasserbad stehen gelassen.
Das Wasserbad:
Wenn du keinen Schmelztopf hast, dann kannst du alles auch in ein Marmeladenglas geben und in einen Kochtopf stellen. Diesen füllst du bis zur Füllhöhe des Glases an und dann schaltest du den Herd ein. Um 60 Grad zu erreichen, reicht dafür meist die Warmhaltestufe, oder eine Stufe höher.
Hast du kein Kochthermometer, macht das auch nichts. Das Öl muss sich heiß anfühlen, das Wasser drumherum darf nicht kochen und wenn das Ganze 70 Grad hat, ist es auch nicht schlimm.
Anschließend wird das Öl durch einen Kaffeefilter abgeseiht. Das funktioniert am besten, wenn es noch heiß ist. Bitte nicht ausdrücken, wir wollen kein Wasser aus dem Kürbis im Öl haben, da es sonst schnell schlecht wird.
Die Bodybutter:
Wiege jetzt das Öl ab und gib die doppelte Menge Sheabutter in eine Rührschüssel. Die Sheabutter solltest du im besten Fall auf warme Zimmertemperatur gebracht haben. Ich lasse sie dazu auf der Heizung stehen. Wenn es schnell gehen soll, kannst du die Rührschüssel auch mit heißem Wasser ausspülen und trocken wischen, bevor du die Sheabutter hinein gibst.
Fange jetzt an, die Butter mit dem Handmixer wie Schlagobers aufzuschlagen und füge das Öl währenddessen portionsweise hinzu.
Wie beim Obers wir die Konsistenz mit der Zeit immer fluffiger. Wenn sie richtig wolkig ist, ist sie fertig und du kannst sie in saubere Gefäße abfüllen und gut verschließen.
Haltbarkeit:
Sie hält auf jeden Fall bei Zimmertemperatur mehrere Wochen. Wenn sie anfängt, ranzig zu riechen, bitte nicht mehr verwenden!
Eine Portion aus 30g Öl und 60g Sheabutter ist in etwa eine Menge, die man gut verbrauchen kann.
